The concept behind Courage for Safety started in 2002 when Alan Sim (Principal, Courage for Safety) delivered a safety moment, hypothetically personalising a high potential incident.
The safety moment was made into a video that can be found on YouTube.

Why "Courage for Safety"?
Courage is derived from the Latin for heart - "cor". Heart has two connotations that speak to safety.
The caring or loving heart to be our "brother's or sister's keeper" and the lion- or braveheart required to intervene when we see others behaving unsafely.
