For a number of years, I have had a desire to develop a 1-day program focussed on providing Supervisors and those working at the point-of-risk with basic safety management and leadership skills.  

 It is titled SIMPLE Safety Skills for Supervisors with SIMPLE a mnemonic for
 

1. Start TODAY safely
2. Identify all hazards associated with the task
3. Manage the identified hazards
4. Prevent incidents by intervening
5. Lead safety
6. Events that are unplanned (incidents) are effectively managed.

 
With the following Learning Outcomes
 

1. Planning and delivering effective pre-start meetings
2. Identifying and managing hazards
3. Intervening when unsafe acts or conditions are identified
4. Leading safety
5. Responding effectively to incidents to prevent recurrence.
